How far along:
20 Weeks 5 Days
Symptoms:
My headaches are way less often, and rarely get them now. Yippee! I feel our baby moving around now, mostly on the sides of the stomach. So blessed to finally be able to feel something, it is probably the best feeling while pregnant when it does start to become more frequent. She usually is active around the 1pm, and 8pm time, it’s the most incredible feeling. I’m not as hungry again this week, even though I look bigger in the picture above then last week. Pregnancy weight gain is just plain weird, it is so unknown! I’m getting numbness in my left arm, like I did with Adrianna at night when I sleep (if I catch myself sleeping on my back). I’m doing some research and I think it might be carpal tunnel…I think I will start wearing a brace at night to see if it helps. I also have the tailbone pain that came with Adrianna as well, so it is pretty sore by night time…holy cow, I’m falling apart so soon. I need to hold on for 19 weeks!
Cravings:
Not too much, just strawberries, bacon, salads, peanut butter and my Scrambled Grain Free French Toast (it’s ridiculous, I have to eat every day for breakfast). If you want the recipe, the link is below:
Movement:
I’m feeling a bit more this week, and more timely. Like I said above it is more on the sides of the stomach and more on the left side. She is also active around 1pm, and 8pm usually when I’m relaxed, I’m sure she is moving around more often.
Exercise:
Still going strong but I’m a little slow, having to walk a little with my running and modify some moves with my workouts but the weights in my strength training have been the same. Still keeping strong, through the bloat and belly.
My workout regimen during the 20th week, has looked like this:
SU-Rest day (my rest days are more like active rest days, I will clean like a crazy woman and organize, go for a light walk with the family)
M-Full body strength training workouts (my online training program workouts)
T- 60 minutes on the dreaded elliptical. I really don’t like to do this machine but my legs were so sore from my work out on Monday that I had to have a light cardio day. Stretching is in my schedule every night before bed, to make sure I have a good workout the next day. Period. I just have to do it.
W- Full body strength training workout (again, my online training workouts)
Th-Ran outside for 6 miles. Walk/jog is more like it, the miles are a lot slower then I’m used to.
F- Full body strength training workout (again, my online training workouts)
SA-Planning on a walk/run 3 miles and finish with a new cardio program I put together for my online program.
Sleep:
Sleep has been getting better this week, and falling asleep early. I.Just.Can’t.Do.It. I need toothpicks to keep these eyelids open! I’m mean it is ridiculous, my 4 year old is still up, granted it is 9:30 and she should be sleeping but she is a great sales woman and literally sells us another hour to stay awake. I’m scared for Rusty and myself when she is a teenager…..
Lastly, since I’m fairly active during the day, my legs are increasingly getting bloated by night time, and so finally when I lay down, I have to use the bathroom 2-3 times a night. But on the positive side I’m so tired that I can normally fall right back to sleep, go me!
Belly Bump:
I’m showing a bump, and I feel huge. This little baby is sitting super low, and laying vertical which is great for a laboring position. But right now, it would be nice if she wasn’t snug as a rug on my bladder.
Weight gain:
I have gained a half a pound and so all together I have gained 8.5lbs.
Food aversions:
Food aversion went away but again I don’t really have an appetite this week.
Dr. Update:
Had 1 ultrasound and doctor appointment this week, and baby is 100% healthy! Woohoo! And she is confirmed a girl. She is measuring 1 pound already, so she is measuring a week ahead, but she could have had a growth spurt. She is also not much of a mover, she kicks a little and wouldn’t move from her head of my bladder position. Did I already mention that it would be nice if she moved a little?
The ultrasound showed that everything is where it needed to be developed and in the right place, so all-in-all that is the most important thing. Can’t wait to meet this Little Miss Deters.
Here some cute pictures that I got at the ultrasound:
Miss Anything?
Just the feeling of not having to pee every 30 minutes.
Excited for anything?
To finally feel the harder jabs and kicks from the baby, which will most likely be 22-25 weeks! Also to see her again on another ultrasound at 32 weeks. Since she has been measuring a week, since week 12 they want to make sure this is the correct due date. I also can’t wait for Adrianna to have her baby sister actually here, she is SO excited. I’m a crazy mother and I did a side-by-side picture of Adrianna at the same gestational week and the future Little Miss. Adrianna picture is better since we did hers in the cities at a private 4D ultrasound place with better quality pictures, but they do look a little similar. I’m so excited!
