How far along:
21 Weeks 5 Days
And I feel like I ate a whale….
Symptoms:
That funny dark line has started to appear from my private area up halfway to almost my belly button now! Speaking of belly buttons, mine is becoming flattened but still in. Like I said I feel like I ate a whale, so my belly is in full force and harder than a rock. I have had a lot round ligament pain since weeks ago, so I know the baby is growing! I have been having my first identifiable braxton hicks at 21 weeks. It doesn’t hurt but I have noticed a lot of them since Sunday. It is crazy how tight it feels and feel like I have done many abdominal crunches! She is kicking like crazy now, still light feelings but I can identify that they are kicks and jabs. I haven’t been able to see them yet, this anterior placenta is such a bummer but at least I can feel something!
I also have been having some really tight muscles after the workouts, so I have been adding more stretching to my routine. It has helped, but my workouts feel so much harder either way. I eliminated a certain food from my diet and I’m wondering if that is the reason, so I just added it back in my diet today to see if it helps my sore and tight muscles. If it helps I will clue you in on what it is.
Cravings:
I have been eating a lot of spaghetti squash, eating some fruit pops (getting another cold, and it feels great on the throat), craving pumpkin flavored food, so I will be baking this weekend! I also have been craving apples, and tons of salads.
Movement:
I’m feeling a bit more this week, and more timely. Like I said above it is more intense and all on the sides of the stomach and now very low. Which makes me think she could have moved from the head down position. She has been active this week around the 6am, 10am, 2pm, and 8pm time.
Exercise:
I’m feeling like a beach whale so everything feels hard but I have been doing all the workouts. I’m very stubborn and will continue working out through this pregnancy (if I continue to feel good) because I know that I will feel better after the workouts. I have however, been slower and taking more breaks in-between the workouts but I haven’t changed weights on any of my strength training routines. The running, well, sucks. I have been running despite the feeling of having to run to the bathroom every 10 minutes, so I have been running more on my treadmill in my studio. That has helped (closer to the bathroom).
My workout regimen during the 21st week, has looked like this:
SU-Rest day (my rest days are more like active rest days, I will clean like a crazy woman and organize, go for a light walk with the family)
M-Full body strength training workouts (my online training program workouts)
T- Ran outside 6 miles, more like a walk/run.
W- Full body strength training workout (again, my online training workouts)
Th-Ran on the treadmill for 5.5 miles and walked outside (beautiful day) for 1.5 miles
F- Full body strength training workout (again, my online training workouts)
SA-Planning on a walk/run 3 miles and finish with a in-home cardio routine from my online program.
Sleep:
Getting up for bathroom trips 1-2 times. Tossing and turning to get comfortable. Sleeping with my body pillow and 3 pillows around the body to hold onto….poor Rusty, he is almost off the bed with my “boyfriend” as he calls my body pillow and all the other pillows that surrounds me. Seriously it is a science to get a good night’s sleep. I officially cannot sleep on my back, I will wake up instantly with my whole arm numb from the carpel tunnel. Such a weird feeling, and the weirdness will continue as I get bigger.
Belly Bump:
I’m showing a bump, and feel huge. Whale-like. I think there is a baby in there, and not a whale. I hope.
Weight gain:
I have gained 1.5lbs. this last week, so altogether 10lbs. This weight gain is absolutely weird and unpredictable. I’m eating the same as usual but gaining more than I would like at this stage, this baby better be getting this extra weight I have gained and not going to my rear end.
Food aversions:
None.
Miss anything?
Just the feeling of not having to pee every 30 minutes.
Excited for anything?
To finally see the jabs and kicks from the baby, which will most likely be around 25 weeks. I’m excited to see her again on another ultrasound at 32 weeks. Since she has been measuring a week, since week 12 they want to make sure this is the correct due date. I also can’t wait for Adrianna to have her baby sister actually here, she is SO excited.
