How far along:
28 Weeks 5 Days
Symptoms:
Braxton hicks are a little slower this week, thank goodness! I have started relaxing more, a little I will be honest I have a hard time with this one. But working on it. I have been taking a lot more Epsom salt baths, almost daily to help with the relaxing thing but it is a real B to get out of the tub. There is no easy way to get out of the tub…
The tired feeling from the 1st trimester came back and I can barely keep my eyes open at 9pm. My 4 year old is staying up later than me and she has to tell me to close my eyes…who is the parent here?
I have been much hungrier this week, but I can only eat a little at a time. Which is fine, since that is better for the metabolism.
Cravings:
I craving grapefruit, apples, anything pumpkin, chocolate and sugary cereals. I have been really good though, eating the fruit, salads, InBar Chocolate Sun butter protein bars and eating plain chex…boring I know but the baby really doesn’t need all the other stuff.
Movement:
Since I had the glucose test on Wednesday, she was very active all day and NIGHT. I felt like I was moving the entire bed with her kicking. Crazy, poor thing had no idea what hit her….damn sugar.
Exercise:
Exercise is hard in general, and I still have around 10 weeks left. I really miss doing core work and hard pylo work but I gotta do what I gotta do. I have stopped my running as of this week, it is not worth it and I need to keep this baby in as long as possible. She seems to hate the heavy lifting, running, anything strenuous, and stress. Much different than Adrianna, I ran easily till 32 weeks and lifting just fine with no issues. Just goes to show that every pregnancy and baby is different.
My workout regimen during the 28th week, has looked like this:
SU-35 minutes of elliptical before heading out of Duluth.
M-Full body strength training workouts (scaling back my online workouts, to ones that are on my pregnancy workout series)
T- 60 minutes on elliptical.
W- Full body strength training workout (again, same as above)
Th-60 minutes of elliptical
F- Full body strength training workouts (took my work out to the gym)
SA-Day off, Sunday I will do a full body workout since my next week is a tad crazy. It seems like cardio days are quicker workouts.
Sleep:
What is that again? Nights are hit or miss. Plus, I have a kitty cat that only loves me so she needs attention at night. She will meow for ½ hour at a time if I don’t open our door at night, super annoying but I do love this cat…
Belly Bump:
I look like a swallowed a beach ball, a large one. I can’t believe that I still have 11 weeks left and I’m struggling to sit, stand, lay down and just be alive because of the bump being so uncomfortable. I have such a short torso, so the ribs and hips are moving thanks to the chiropractor, and massage therapist.
Weight gain:
I have gained a little less than a pound, again this week. I feel like I may gain a little more next week, because of my hunger. But we’ll see! All together I have gained 16.5lbs.
Stretch Marks:
None yet. I have been using a coconut body butter after every shower and Vaseline (yes, Vaseline. I use it at night before bed) I used it when I was pregnant with Adrianna and had no stretch marks.
Food aversions:
None.
Doctor Visit:
All good in the hood, finally. I feel like this little one has given me some scares but at this appointment everything went well!
I had the glucose drink and passed, but got a little sick afterward but that seems normal if you don’t drink 50 grams of sugar in 5 minutes on a daily basis.
The fundal height measures right on track, 28 weeks. And my blood pressure was at 100/60, which is normal for me and no swelling in my legs, ankles and feet which are good signs of not having preeclampsia.
Miss anything?
Being able to pick things up without grunting, and showing my clients certain moves that I know I can’t do or feel like I won’t get up if I try it.
Fears:
I’m a little fearful of the c-section I will have in December. I have done a ton of research, watch videos of a c-section and trying to get as much information on what I can and can’t do after the surgery. I’m a little type A and need to know what is going to happen and what I need to make happen to make sure recovery is as best as I can make it.
Excited for anything?
To see my baby girl next week in an ultrasound and to finish up a few more things on my online program…I’m almost there!
Here is a little glimpse of the baby room so far, clothes are washed, breast pump is here, car seat is ready to go, and crib is up….even though, this room won’t even be used for a few months after baby is born. Ha!

Why did you need a cesarean? Loving all the information you have on your site regarding exercise and pregnancy. I wish this was encouraged more.
Thank you for the feedback, to answer your question about the cesarean, my first born’s labor was 4 hours long, used the vacuumed 3 times to get her out with no luck, and at the end tore 4th degrees. I went to several doctors after my first pregnancy and they all vetoed no on a vaginal birth since I had already too much damage from the 1st.
