We all have heard that patience is a virtue. Most of us probably enjoy being around patient people, but it is not always so easy to be patient ourselves. Patience can be learned, it just takes a little patience.
Most of the time I try to keep myself balanced but I’m like everyone and my patience can be tested. I always remind myself when times get crazy that I’m a very lucky girl because I have a wonderful family and an awesome job. Lately, my patience gets tugged because I have a list of great things I want to accomplished this year and one huge one is my online-personal training website which I have been working on for the past two years and it is now starting to come full circle. Finally, WAHOO!! I have to say I feel like I have been more impatient waiting, like a child waiting to open their gifts on Christmas morning. But I’ve come to realized rushing things won’t make them go faster, but make you CRAZY!
With living and seeing my patience being tested on a regular basis, I can see how people in society can be frustrated with things in their life not going as fast or as smooth as they want it. Everyone that I have talked to or have heard about gets frustrated with their weight loss goals, and not going as fast as they want it. It takes time to make this change and most of all you will have bumps in the road. Consistency and patience is a big part of all transformations in life. Keep your eyes forward and keep striving to give it your best each and every day on whatever your goals might be.
Some tips I can give you that help me get through some of my life challenges are:
1. Take a day where you will make patience your goal for the entire day.
2. Make a concerted effort to take your time on daily tasks, driving, listening to others.
3. Think about everything you do, and be more mindful and live in the moment.
4. Learn to be patient on a daily basis, make it a habit. It is like a muscle the more you train it, your patience will get stronger.
5. Use relaxation techniques and working out to help keep you calmer.
6. Last but not least, take note on what has been accomplished already and be happy with the moment you are in.
Patience may or may not be something you need to work on in life. But annoyance and challenges are thrown at us every day and the calmer we react to a situation the better the outcome is.
