I could pretty much go without ever eating pasta again. I’m loving all these new ideas on how to still get the pasta taste but without all the carbs and heavy feeling after eating a plate full of pasta. It is a light meal that is packed with super foods. When you eat a bowl of broccoli… well, it pretty much takes care of itself. Have you ever felt way too full from eating vegetables? Nah! It may look weird but this tasted so good! Serves 4.
Ingredients
1 lbs. extra lean ground turkey
1- 12-oz. bag (4 cups) broccoli cole slaw
1 cup canned crushed tomatoes
3 chopped garlic cloves
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Dash crushed red pepper
2 cups marinara sauce (low sugar)
1/2 cup water
Preparation
Brown the ground turkey in a separate frying pan on medium until done.
In another skillet, spray with nonstick spray to medium-high heat on the stove.
Add slaw, garlic chopped cloves, and 1/4 cup water.
Stirring occasionally, cook until water has evaporated and slaw has softened slightly--about 5 - 8 minutes.
Add in garlic powder, onion powder and black pepper in the slaw mixture.
Add tomatoes and continue to stir and cook until hot-- about 3 - 4 minutes.
Scoop out desired amount and ground turkey and enjoy!

This looked yummy — but I was skeptical that it would taste like pasta. YUMMY!!! It has all the italian flavors of a delicious bowl of spaghetti. Totally impressed and will make again. When my family is eating real pasta, I won’t be tempted to cheat. SO GOOD!! Thanks, Dayna 🙂
