Same great taste without the extra fat and calories. This is a great alternative for a your “Thanksgiving Feast.” This is Paleo, gluten-free and dairy free acceptable side dish. Nutritional value is based on 5 servings.
Ingredients
1 large onion
2 cup celery
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 cups almond flour
2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 Tbls. marjoram
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 cup chicken broth
1 cup egg whites
1/2 lbs. extra-lean ground turkey
1/2 cup green onions
Preparation
Chop onions and celery.
In a skillet, add in the sweat onions, celery and 1/4 cup chicken broth.
Saute the onions and celery until they are very tender.
Mix in 1/2 t salt and 1/2 t pepper to the onions and celery.
Set aside to cool.
Brown the ground turkey till completely cooked.
set aside.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a large mixing bowl--mix almond flour, salt, soda, sage, marjoram, chicken broth and egg whites and green onions.
Mix the flour mixture with the celery and onions and ground turkey.
Pour the stuffing into a 12 1/4in. X 8 1/4 in. pan.
Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden around the edges.
Lastly-- If you want the look of the "normal" stuffing you can "fork it" to make it look more like stuffing.
