This is a fun fall treat, I love fall. All the leaves changing colors and apple orchards. This is super yummy and just a little different from the average caramel apple.
Ingredients
4 Macintosh apples
12 pitted medjool dates
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup plus 2 tbs. unsweetened vanilla almond breeze
Dash sea salt
Preparation
In a small saucepan combine your dates and 1/4 cup of water over med high heat. Stirring occasionally.
Once the water has been absorbed add in another 1/4 cup and continue to stir.
Add in 1/4 cup almond milk once the second batch of water is absorbed. Continue to stir.
Once the dates have melted, after about 3 minutes place your mixture into a food processor and blend until your mixture is smooth, about 1 minute.
Pour your mixture back into the saucepan and continue to warm over low heat.
Mix in your sea salt and let cook 1 minute longer.
Dip your apples into the caramel mixture and sprinkle with toppings of choice.
