This past weekend I had a ladies weekend, well not the ladies weekend you are thinking of… I had the weekend with my little lady 🙂 I feel that it is very important to still keep active when it’s just myself so instead of gym time, I will work out outside with Adrianna (my little one). That being said, I know it’s very hard to do when you have more than two kids so I can’t speak for everyone but it is really important to be in good habits when you are around your kids. What you do is what they do, and what you want them to do, you should are doing. Huh? That was a confusing one, but I hope you get it…
So this is an example of what I do when I have no sitter or hubby around. Saturdays are my active rest days so I like to get a walk in or play actively with my kid, (I do this anyway but you get my grift), or will clean the house and Adrianna my little helper. This is my normal, and as for my Sundays, they usually consist of cardio and lifting so this Sunday I decided to go for a run and do some HIIT intervals. Just letting you know, that 20lb. bike jogger, 23lb. child, sprint and jog intervals=I Almost Died Amazing Workout!
This is my work out if you are interested:
10 minute jog at medium pace
Repeat this sequence 10X: (I use the Gymboss timer @ www.gymboss.com)
1:00 medium jog
: 30 Sprint (as fast as you can go, and can’t go any faster)
Cool down:
5 minute at medium pace
5 minute walk
Then came home and finished walking lunges, walking side squats, pushups, burpees, and jump lunges. Whew…I was tired!!
In between my work out today, I did stop at the park so Adrianna could get a little activity, and I will give you a little tip don’t go down the slide with your kid until you know there is no water on the slide 🙂 I had to run with a wet bottom all the way home!
