My hubby and I were both hungry for sloppy joes last night for dinner,but want to keep up the health kick since yesterday morning going 🙂 Only kidding we ate pretty good the whole Christmas weekend. But this recipe was made with some great ingredients and we paired it up with corn tortilla’s and steamed broccoli, carrots and cauliflower.
Ingredients:Â
1 lb. ground organic chicken
1 can of tomato sauce-low sodium and low sugar
1/2 cup of low sugar ketchup- I use the Natural Ketchup: Portland Ketchup Company
1 Tbsp. onion powder
1 Tbsp. garlic powder
1 cup fresh spinach
1 chopped green pepper
Sprinkle of pepper
 Directions:Â
Brown the ground chicken.
Chop the green pepper in little pieces.
Once meat is cooked, add the tomato sauce, ketchup, onion and garlic powder, green pepper and spinach. Cook on the stove till the spinach is done.
Scoop out what you want into corn tortilla for something different ( like shown) or a gluten free bun or bread. If not allergic to gluten, try out the Ezekiel bread. Now get sloppy!
