I have said this many times before that I love the book The Secret. Some of the reasons I enjoy the book are the positive affirmations, the how-to’s to better yourself and get what you want in life. Vision boards are a huge part of this book and decided a couple years ago I would start one. I have had a vision board for over a year now and most everything I had on there was accomplished at the end of last year–and now I have a new board for the year of 2013. I have gotten some weird looks and laughs at why I do this and questions on why I don’t use Pinterest for that. I agree Pinterest is a great tool, but I don’t focus on it daily, I only see my pins when I go on my app, and to be honest most of the things on there are not my goals.
A vision board is simply a visual representation or collage of the things that you want to have, be, or do in your life. It can consists of a poster or foam board with cut-out pictures, drawings and/or writing on it of the things that you want in your life or the things that you want to become. The purpose of a vision board is to activate the law of attraction to begin to pull things from your external environment that will enable you to realize your dream. By selecting pictures and writing that charges your emotions with feelings of passion, you will begin to manifest those things into your life–and the purpose of having a vision board is something that can be easily seen. This helps you envision yourself doing what you want and better yet it is a cheap and easy tool to help you always have your eyes on the prize. Here is what mine looks like–I found mine at T.J. Maxx and thought it fit perfect in my office where I see it everyday.
