Have you ever been faced with trying to stay positive when others around you are negative? Negative people can be a challenge to be around, some you have to be around no matter what if you live with them or they are your best friend. Being negative or being around it can bring you down and drain your energy. Have you woke up in the morning and had good intentions of working on the positive attitude you want to set forth with but BAM! A negative person comes in and throws you down, well not literally but you know what you mean…
I know for me when I say something or think something, it is either one, I’m jealous of that person or situation or I’m not happy with what I look like, feel like, or I’m exhausted from all my daily tasks. I have been good at catching myself when something comes out of my mouth or I think thoughts of negativity. I replace those thoughts with positives thoughts or actions right away, and if the thought linger I will go for a walk, listen to music, read a self-improvement book, or write in my journal. Those are things that help me feel centered. If you feel that you are stuck in the negativity, find ways that can help you out of those times and find your happy place.
If you do nothing else but focus on your own negative thoughts and behavior, you will remain in the negative. A negative attitude is contagious, but a positive attitude is infectious. Hanging out with positive people can encourage you to be your best YOU. Use positive affirmations to overcome negative self-talk. Express your gratitude for all the positive things in your life. Take the time everyday to watch all the beautiful things going on around you, life is fast so be in the moment. Read inspirational material and listen to joyful music, and if you need help finding books that I feel encouraging I can recommend some great books. Take care of yourself spiritually. Do whatever you have to do to remain positive and happy despite the negativity you face. The world will be a better place because of you and your attitude. And you never know, you just might help an unhappy person make a change to a better way of living.
