The biggest thing I hear from fitness enthusiast is the awful soreness from their workouts. It is a love-hate relationship that may hinder your next workout. This is one thing I have been missing (since having a baby, because of time) but making it a priority for next week. It is good to incorporate a good 20 minute Epsom salt bath, once a week, if possible. The reason these Epsom salts baths work so well is because of the excellent source on magnesium. Low magnesium intake results in a buildup of lactic acid which is partly responsible for Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness. Magnesium is important for flexibility, without it muscles do not relax properly causing pain and tightness. We can obtain magnesium from food. Bananas and leafy greens are good sources of magnesium but unfortunately, even organic soils are depleted of minerals.
So with the minerals in this bath recipe, there is hope! Magnesium is absorbed efficiently through the skin so by taking an Epsom salts bath you can reap all the benefits of this mineral.
