I have to say I’m pretty impressed with one of my Determinites–she always seems to be on the same page as me. We are very like-minded and she can literally take the words right out of my mouth. I have been pretty busy this past month and I’m truly grateful for Michelle to always have something great to add to the site. This blog is a great one, because we all have a situations with fitness, health, weight-loss or emotional block that just with a little change in nutrition, positive attitude, workouts, or taking a mental or “me” day will change your body, mind and soul. Thanks for another great blog Michelle!
Keep Going
When I look back at the journey I went through this past year and a half I am surprised on how fast it all really went. It is truly amazing how quickly your journey will happen if you are committed to making it happen. At the time it feels long and hard, but it is so worth it.
“Nothing worth having was ever achieved without effort” -Thomas Edison
Does this mean I was 100% disciplined the whole time? No, but I was dedicated and didn’t let the fall backs turn into disasters. People often ask me how I did it, and I’m not sure what the right answer to that question is. It is different for each person. I know this to be true, you have to WANT it. Deep down in your gut, you have to want and be willing to work for it.
Tips for keeping motivation FULL FORCE
1. When it comes to your nutrition, you have to be fully in or fully out. No gray areas here. You are going to be faced with chocolate cake, lasagna, mashed potatoes and gravy and anything else that your taste-buds would desire. Be ready for that because its going to happen. Remember you are not dieting. No! You are making a life-change to better your health, mind and body. Have fun making new creations for you and your family. Eating healthy can be fun!
2. Don’t compare yourself to others. Everybody has different bodies and you are never going to look like someone else. No two bodies are alike, we are all unique. Keep thinking positive and be comfortable in your own skin. The main thing is that you are taking care of yourself and you will begin to feel fantastic when you keep moving. Keep you chin up and take your journey one day at a time.
3. Did your workout buddy quit? That doesn’t mean that you have to! Having a friend to workout with is great, but sometimes they will fall off the radar. You can keep going! If you have a hard time keeping yourself motivated, go back and remember why you started. Take a look at your goals and remember how far you have come, never give up! Find a support group if you need to, but don’t rely on others to keep yourself going.
4. Keep negative thoughts out! For years I would start another workout plan or diet plan and know in the back of my mind that I would fail. This is a recipe for disaster. You have to think positive and know deep down that you can do it. Change your thoughts, change your attitude, change your life. If you believe in yourself, and have the courage to push through the tough times, you will begin to see the results and the outcome that you are searching for.
5. Stuck in a rut? Have you lost 20 LBS or so and can’t seem to go anywhere? Shake things up a bit. Add an extra pop challenge or start a running program. Talk to Dayna and see if there is something you could change in your nutrition to get things moving. Sometimes when your body adjust we can get stuck and just need to make a change to get things moving again.

Can I be the first to say that I have two of the most amazing mentors in my journey….Dayna, my trainer and Michelle, my fitness buddy. Thank you both for all the inspiration and guidance you provide not only for myself, but also all the other Determinites. We all need that little extra push of encouragement throughout our journey…..and I know we can all turn to the two of you. What a dynamic duo!
