Some days I wake up and I have those infamous “fat days”, I look at myself and just don’t like what I see. I know some of you are like “whatever, your not even fat” but guess what it doesn’t matter what I look like, it’s what my mind is telling me. My “fat days” are far and few between, because I have learned to change my mind-set.
Once I learned to love myself and be happy, regardless of my weight or what I look like I started asking myself a different question: What can I do to nourish my body? I started focusing on nourishing myself with different whole foods that made me feel good inside and out and not punishing myself with my workouts for eating junk. My mind-set is to focus on making better choices with out requiring crazy amount of willpower or someone forcing to eat food I don’t want to eat. I eat the foods that are good for me and keep me full of energy because I like them, not because I CAN’T have other foods, it is because I want to nourish my body with food that will help keep my body, mind and skin healthy.
If you are struggling with weight-loss or your maintenance with your health and fitness goals I would suggest to listen to yourself on how you are approaching your goals. Are you sabotaging by telling yourself you are fat? You won’t lose the weight? You don’t have time to workout? Prepping meals are to hard? I will wait till Monday to start back up? The list can go on…
Part of our days are dealing with negative thinking, negative people, and negative situations, that can possibly derail you from your success. Instead, adapt the positive beliefs and positive motivation for yourself. Believe that you are worth the time, you are worth taking care of yourself, and sticking with your workouts and balanced meals are a reward not a punishment. You may be surprised on how easy it is to make better choices when you are encouraged by yourself and loving the person you are, as opposed to beating yourself up.
Do something for yourself today, whether it is to tell yourself 3 nice comments or to get a great workout in, your body and mind will thank you!
