I’m sure you have heard this quote once or twice before. “When the going gets tough, the tough get going,” days like today I have more work, more house hold duties, more family duties. I feel like the list could not stop…does this sound true to you? Sometimes having these feeling can be very overwhelming and can make you a little stressed and anxious and with Christmas around the corner I hope this blog will help you as much as this helps me. It’s amazing how strong the human spirit is. And how amazing it is, when you think you can’t carry on anymore, one small phrase can give you the strength you need. We all have times in our lives when inspirational phrases help out our life and some of these are one’s that help me when things get tough and overwhelming:
# 1. Try to keep perspective:
Take a look at the whole “picture.” Sometimes what you’re worried or stressed about really isn’t all that bad. You may just need to step back from whatever it is you’re concerned about and look at the BIG picture. If it is really not that bad, stop the worrying and move on. Something just can’t be changed.
# 2. Never give up:
Sometimes your dreams feel outside of your grasp. It’s easy to throw in the towel. It almost seems like the sensible thing to do is quit. But believe me on this one, just keep pushing forward you can do this. It may be hard but that’s when you need to tell yourself you CAN do it! Simple phrase, YOU CAN DO IT. Don’t give up.
# 3. Overcome failure:
I have failed on a bunch of things in the past but that didn’t keep me from stopping. Failure is inevitable if we are to succeed in life. Unfortunately, many people do not know how to overcome failure, and they are stopped by it when they encounter one. The ability to overcome failure is one big difference between successful and mediocre people. After all, we should pass failure on the way to success, so it is the ability to pass it that makes the difference between those who eventually reach success and those who don’t. Just remember, that when you fail at something, it is only because you are going to be doing even better the next time.
# 4. Inner strength:
This is probably the hardest one for most, including myself. We are our own worst critic and the thoughts that we think about ourselves can be the toughest voice around. But building inner strength is a lifelong task. If done right, not only will it pay off when difficulty arises, it will become habit, and eventually a part of your identity. Be strong!
#5. And of course, courage:
Next time you are in a difficult situation, remember you’re more than you think you are – use words to give you strength.
