How far along:
38 Weeks 5 Days
Symptoms:
My bloating has decreased, I have been drinking at least a gallon of water, and taking some Epsom salt baths, and moving more–so I think that has helped.
I have so much work, and clients to meet with before I finish work next week for a 8 week. So the anxiety and stress of the fact baby girl will for sure be here in a week and half are making my nerves more intense. I have been really excited until this week, and now I hope she stays put for the next week and half. Lol! How did this time go so fast?!
I have no more back pain, thanks to the chiropractor! Thank goodness, I couldn’t imagine going a a couple weeks that way! I have the best chiropractor for pregnancy, and it is SO important to go if you are pregnant and feeling aches and pains since the body is shifting, moving from Relaxin, the hormone that is produced by the ovary and the placenta. Since I’m getting close to the D-Date this hormone is preparing my body for childbirth.
My Braxton hicks are starting to become longer, and more intense. I’m feeling the beginning real contractions, but they are not consistent. They are coming on slowly and then a huge cramp, and then releasing. I remember them with Adrianna when I was induced and they feel the same way when I was in the beginning stage. But again, nothing consistent. I have a feeling I will make it to my D-date and by then I will have my C-section. She’s pretty comfortable right now.
Cravings:
My hunger is better this week, not as crazy. My cravings have been apples, salads, eggs, and veggies with hummus.
Movement:
She is moving less but still moving her 10 times a day with the kick counts. She rolls more and punches less.
Exercise:
The workouts are still going, they are hard but they are doable. I feel good at this stage that I still haven’t had to stop or make them easy. I’m super lucky that I have been able to keep up. Not saying that it has been easy by any means, I struggle to do it and question myself every morning. But I do it because it will be less weight to lose after baby, and more importantly, I sleep better, have more energy throughout the day, and the workouts have in fact helped me keep up with my 4 ½ year old daughter.
My workout regimen during the 38th week, has looked like this:
I used this program for my workouts: The Determined FIT Pregnancy
SU-Rest day
M- Full body strength training workout, modified for my pregnancy.
T- 30 minutes elliptical trainer and 30 minutes leg workout.
W- Full body strength training workout, modified for my pregnancy.
Th-60 minutes elliptical.
F-Full body strength training workout, modified for my pregnancy.
SA-Planning on another elliptical workout at home for 30 minutes, and 30 minutes legs.
Sleep:
Sleeping was not good till Tuesday night, after my chiropractor appointment. My back was killing me, but after that appointment I feel back to normal. Since then I have been sleeping AMAZING! I have only had to get up 3 times a night to use the bathroom, and I have been able to shut my mind off at night. I feel like a million bucks, even though that won’t last in a few weeks, then the mind and body will be lost for away! Lol!
Baby Bump:
My belly basically has stayed the same, the inches have slowed down. When I got pregnant my waist was at 27 inches, and now it is at 37 inches. So I’m 2 inches away when I delivered Adrianna, so I’m right now track!
Weight gain:
I gained another pound this week. So in total I have gained 20lbs.
Stretch Marks:
None yet.
Food aversions:
None.
Doctor Visit:
My 38th week appointment was on Tuesday and it was uneventful again! NOTHING has changed down there. Which is crazy since I have been having so many Braxton hicks. Awesome. But after Tuesday next week, I would rather her wait till after Christmas to come, if she decides to pick her own birthday.
Do you hear that Little Miss? I have numerous conversations with her already about this, HOPEFULLY she listens. I’d feel bad for her to have a birthday on Christmas!
Miss anything?
I’m struggling with anything that requires me to bend over…for anything.
Excited for anything?
I’m excited to meet my little girl but also scared as hell because I know what’s in store for the next two months or forever for that matter! Lol, I will miss sleep, quiet nights, and worried about the transition from 1 to 2 kids. I know that ALL these will be totally fine and it will be important to take each day as it comes. I’m SO excited to meet her, so don’t get me wrong, but these are the little that have all of a sudden came to mind in the middle of the night when I try to sleep. I can’t believe that this is close to my last journal, and how fast this pregnancy went. Thank you SO much for all the support through this pregnancy and will continue my postpartum journey after baby. Since this is my first time having a C-section and have done SO much research on it, I will be honest with the process of getting my body back afterwards. So keep your eyes posted in a few weeks for the first blog!
